As a last resort the IDPD dispatches a squad of their first respondents and when that proves not to be enough they even sick the mutated remains of the throne on you. Except when a mutant destroys the generators, because then everything comes undone. Ofcourse it was a trap, but habitants of these worlds are so desperate they'll try anything and try they do, once they reached the mansion it was decided to be safer for the IDPD to attempt to bring in the mutants before they got near to the generator, but even if they reached the throne the chief had a back up plan. Naturally the IDPD created the generators to regulate the situation, but they're powered by a special kind of radiation only found on worlds who've undergone this sort of space/time damage, so naturally they build the throne and spread the word of the nuclear throne, able to make all things right in the world if only a mutant can collect enough radiation and reach it, they can put the world right. Somehow durring the apocalypse portals began to spawn and the space/time disruption was only getting worse the longer it was left unchecked, if this went on for to long there would be unimaginable consequences. My theory is that the throne regulates the portals, only opening them to bring mutants ever closer to their doom at the hands of the throne.
